Why Does My Hair Color Fade So Fast?
Color fading is a common problem. Especially for redheads. It"s a natural occurrence because every time you wash your hair with shampoo in hot water, some of the color will either be released from inside the hair cuticle or from the surface. You can"t see it happen. And you only notice that it"s happened after you can see it in the mirror, at about week three or four weeks after you color. But fear not: there are things you can do to minimize fading.First, cut back on the shampooing. Try it every other day or two. Be sure to use a shampoo that"s made for colored hair. It really does make a difference. And turn down the water temperature. I know everyone likes a hot shower, but lower it a few degrees. And make your final rinse a cool one. It"ll boost the shine in your hair, too.
Once a week use a color deposit shampoo. Choose one in your hair color range. There are plenty of products like these on the drugstore shelves. Don"t over-use these shampoos though: if you do, you"ll just end up with dull hair. And that"s not what we"re after.
