Flat Iron - How to Choose The Best Hair Straightener Iron
Over the past 6 years I have reviewed many different brands and types of hair straightening irons and have concluded that there are a few important factors you want to take into consideration when making your descision in buying a new flat iron. How to Choose the Best Hair Straightener Iron
1. Features - when buying a new flat iron you want to make sure the one you choose has features that will benefit you and your hair type. The best features to look for in a hair iron include temperature control with at least a high of 400 Degrees, ceramic and tourmaline.
A hair straightener that does not reach a high of at least 400 degrees will not benefit those who have thick, coarse and/or curly hair. Ceramic and tourmaline together work to provide negative ions which in return provide safer, healthier and better looking results.
2. Size - when it comes to your flat iron, size does matter. I have always recommended a 1" plate as this is the most versatile size. With a 1" styling iron you can not only straighten your hair but curl, wave, flip and add volume as well.
3. Brand - with anything we buy most of us will choose a product that we are familiar with or have heard positive things about. When choosing a hair straightener, ask for recommendations from friends and stylists and read reviews online. Doing a bit of research can end up saving you money in the long run.
4. Warranty/Guarantee - Always make sure to check the warranty and guarantee before the purchase of a new flat iron. What happens if you do not like, can you return it? If you are not buying directly from the supplier make sure you find out who you need to contact should something go wrong with your hair iron.
